‘A Perfect Bomb’

Here is, astonishingly, some actual reportage I did. It’s a long interview I did in Urumqi when I was there in April/May. It’s about protest, violence and terrorism, and will also appear, in some form, in The Tree that Bleeds.

One response

  1. Dear Nick,
Reports from Urumqi riots reminded me on some scenes from former Yugoslavia, apparently Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo.

In all cases, there is muslims vs non-muslims and muslims are majority. In all cases, there’s a pictures of females crying in the front of police. In all cases, majority muslims kills non-muslims and there’s sympathy for muslims as they “fight for their freedom”. At the end, there’s some muslim terrorist organization that will take the chance and train future “freedom fighters”.

In aforementioned crying in the front of police, women had fully covered head. We both know that Uighur women doesn’t cover their head fully.

Maybe this parallels should be investigated further.
